PNU holds HR Summit 2025 in Bacolod City, strengthens PRIME-HRM Systems across Campuses
The Philippine Normal University, through the Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO), successfully held the PNU HR Summit 2025 from November 20 to 22, 2025, in Bacolod City, with PNU Visayas serving as the host campus. Under the theme “RISE HR: Reinforcing Institutional Systems for Excellence in Human Resources,” the three-day summit brought together HR focal persons, HR-related committees, planning officers, and key officials from all PNU campuses. The event aimed to foster a unified approach to improving the university’s human resource systems as it advances toward PRIME-HRM Maturity Level III.

Dr. Escartin is a highly accomplished educator with an extensive academic background. He holds a Doctor of Education degree, majoring in Educational Management, and has completed two master’s degree programs—Master of Arts in Education, majoring in Educational Management, and Master of Physical Education and Sports.
PNU leaders invited to World Bank Conference on Teacher Preparation and Development in Ethiopia
Philippine teacher education experts and leaders flew to Ethiopia to take part in the Educators Shaping Futures: A Global Knowledge Exchange on Teacher Preparation and Development held on November 3 to 4, 2025, at the headquarters of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). Participated in by more than 200 delegates from across the globe, the conference was organized by the World Bank Group, UNESCO, Florida State University, and the Ethiopian Ministry of Education.
PNU inks Understanding with Kotebe University of Education, Ethiopia, forges collaboration in teacher ed, research, and academic exchange
A highlight of the recent official trip of the PNU delegation to Ethiopia is the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kotebe University of Education (KUE) on November 6, 2025. Under the said understanding, PNU, the National Center for Teacher Education of the Philippines, formalizes avenues for collaboration on teacher education, research, and academic mobility with KUE, one of Ethiopia’s prominent educational institutions.
PNU joins the ASEAN Higher Education Leadership Forum 2025 in Malaysia
The Philippine Normal University (PNU) participated in the ASEAN Higher Education Leadership Forum (ASHELF) 2025 organized by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and the Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI), with the leadership of the University of Putra Malaysia (UPM). This forum was held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) in Malaysia from November 4 to 5, 2025, as part of the Festival of Ideas (FOI) organized by the Government of Malaysia, being the Chair of the ASEAN Summit 2025.
PNU-GEDIO Director attends GEDI Leadership Forum and Workshop in UK
The Philippine Normal University (PNU), through the Gender Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Office (GEDIO) Director, Asst. Prof. Iona Ofelia B. Zanoria, took part in the GEDI Leadership Forum and Workshop held in the United Kingdom from October 29 to 31, 2025. The event was organized by the British Council in partnership with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (SEAMEO RIHED).
