
In recognition of its exemplary performance in the 2026 Librarians Computer-Based Licensure Examination, the Philippine Normal University (PNU) was conferred a plaque designating the University as the Top 2 Performing School among institutions with at least 10 examinees and a minimum passing rate of 80%. The award was formally presented during the oath-taking ceremony held on October 6, 2026, at The Manila Hotel.
Receiving the plaque on behalf of the University and PNU President Dr. Bert J. Tuga was Dr. Niño D. Naldoza, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Education and Information Sciences (FEIS). The award was signed and presented by the members of the Professional Regulatory Board for Librarians, led by its Chairperson, Hon. Yolanda C. Granda, together with Hon. Lourdes T. David.
PNU demonstrated an exceptional performance in the licensure examination, achieving a 100% passing rate among its first-time takers, with 47 PNUan examinees successfully passing. Further highlighting the University’s strong performance, four outstanding PNUans secured places among the topnotchers: Jose Iñigo Sacristan Tabobo (Rank 4), Jemima Faith Pastoral Peralta (Rank 5), Menard Caballa Parado (Rank 7), and Bernice Mae Breis Aaron (Rank 10).
This recognition affirms PNU’s continuing commitment to academic excellence and the preparation of highly competent Library and Information Science professionals who contribute meaningfully to the advancement of libraries, information services, education, and knowledge development in the country.
