The Philippine Normal University (PNU) has expanded its offering of Straight Bachelor of Science–Master of Arts (BSMA) programs across multiple academic disciplines after successfully securing a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). With this approval, PNU is now authorized to implement Straight BSMA programs in Teaching Social Science, Language and Literature Education, Science Education with specializations in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and Wika at Panitikang Filipino.

The COPC affirms that these programs meet national quality standards and are aligned with existing CHED policies and guidelines. This achievement also marks a significant step in the University’s efforts to strengthen its academic offerings and provide streamlined pathways for students seeking to pursue advanced degrees. Anchored in the current Teacher Education (TEd) Pathways Framework, these programs offer a highly responsive, relevant, and innovative model for preparing future educators.
Initially offered in Psychology and Counseling, the Straight BSMA program now covers a broader range of disciplines, reflecting PNU’s commitment to academic innovation and responsiveness to evolving educational needs. The University further emphasized that these programs are expected to empower aspiring teachers to become researchers, discipline-grounded professionals, data-driven digital educators, globally oriented collaborators, empowered and empathetic practitioners, and dynamic education leaders.

With this latest milestone, PNU continues to advance its mission of producing future-ready educators and strengthening its position at the forefront of teacher education in the country.
