From her early years as a student at the Philippine Normal University Mindanao’s Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) to her leadership as mayor of San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, her journey has been marked by an unwavering commitment to service and community upliftment. As the daughter of Atty. Ceferino Paredes Jr., a respected public servant and politician, she carries forward a legacy of selfless dedication to the betterment of her hometown, honoring her father’s vision through innovative programs and responsive governance.

Her educational foundation at PNU Mindanao instilled in her the values of excellence and service that continue to guide her work. After years of private legal practice, she answered the call to lead her community, and in 2022, her resolve to enact meaningful change led to her election as mayor. Her leadership has been characterized by empathy, innovation, and a deep commitment to uplifting her constituents.

As mayor, she oversees initiatives that reach every corner of San Francisco. Her “Government on Wheels” program brings essential services such as dental checkups, birth registration, and educational supplies directly to barangays, ensuring even the most remote communities receive support. Senior citizens are not forgotten, with rice provisions symbolizing the administration’s care for its elders. Environmental stewardship is at the forefront, with monthly clean-up drives uniting employees and residents in fostering a cleaner town. Another notable project, the “Ecobricks Exchange with Rice” program, exemplifies sustainability by encouraging citizens to recycle plastics in exchange for rice, blending environmental conservation with tangible rewards.

The mayor’s tenure also celebrates unity and cultural pride. Under her leadership, the municipality hosted the 14th Kutitap Festival in partnership with the Cultural Center of the Philippines. This gathering brought together Indigenous children and youth from across the country for workshops aimed at promoting Philippine arts, indigenous culture, and social values. The event underscored her commitment to preserving heritage while nurturing the creativity of the next generation.

Her administration has further enriched the lives of residents through initiatives like the annual “Pamaskong Handog,” which distributes goods and holiday cheer to government employees and barangay workers. Additionally, she supports couples in her community through free civil mass weddings, providing them with the dignity and blessings of a formal union. Her belief in strengthening families as a foundation for a strong community reflects her values as a leader rooted in faith and compassion.

Beyond these programs, her vision for a healthier San Francisco is embodied in the establishment of a new health center. Strategically located to serve areas far from the main municipal center, it includes a resident doctor and ambulance, ensuring accessible healthcare for more residents. This commitment to improving health services exemplifies her holistic approach to governance.

Through her work, she has transformed governance into an inspiring blend of service, compassion, and innovation. Her tenure as mayor is a testament to the power of visionary leadership and an enduring love for her people, ensuring that her hometown thrives not only today but for generations to come.
