Philippine Normal University, through the Linkages and International Office (LIO), continues to advance its commitment to internationalization as its North and South Luzon campuses welcome international students from Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), Indonesia, under the International Experiential Learning Program (IELP).

The program provides an opportunity for students from partner institutions to experience the Philippine education system firsthand. Participants engage in academic activities, cultural exchanges, classroom observations, and community interactions designed to develop competencies for the global teaching profession.

At PNU South Luzon, four students from UNNES were welcomed on August 18, 2026, followed by another six on August 23. Marking another milestone in the University’s partnership with the Indonesian institution, the visiting students will stay on campus for nearly a month to participate in various experiential learning activities.

Meanwhile, PNU North Luzon is likewise contributing to the University’s internationalization agenda by hosting its own set of academic engagements. Through these active partnerships, the campus helps create meaningful opportunities for cross-cultural learning among students and faculty.

The participation of both regional campuses underscores PNU’s system-wide approach to extending global learning opportunities and strengthening engagement with international partners.

More than an academic exchange, the IELP serves as a platform for professional development and international cooperation. The interaction among PNU students, faculty members, and international participants fosters mutual learning and strengthens the educational partnership between the Philippines and Indonesia, demonstrating the University’s commitment to producing globally competent educators.
