
Philippine Normal University North Luzon (PNUNL) achieved a historic milestone after successfully passing the ISO 21001:2018 Educational Organizations Management System (EOMS) Initial Stage 2 Audit on July 16, 2026, earning its ISO 21001:2018 EOMS certification and becoming the first campus in the Philippine Normal University System to attain the distinction.
Conducted on July 15 and 16, the external audit assessed the University’s educational processes, learner support services, and administrative operations to determine their compliance with the internationally recognized standard for educational organizations.
Following the announcement of the audit results, Dr. Agnes S. Reyes, Executive Director and Provost, described the certification as a significant affirmation of the University’s commitment to quality education. “It is our privilege to have this audit, for it confirms our commitment to excellence,” Dr. Reyes said. She emphasized that the achievement reflects the collective efforts of the University’s administrators, faculty members, non-teaching personnel, and students. “This is a testament that efforts pay off, and may we continue to strive for improvement. This achievement is a reminder that we need to deliver what is expected from us,” she added.
Madonna C. Gonzales, Director for Administration, Finance, and Planning, together with Dr. Clemente M. Aguinaldo, Dean of Academics and the Hub, and Dr. Jandy S. Danzalan, Director for Research, Extension, Quality Assurance, and Development, expressed their gratitude to the entire University community, describing the certification as a long-awaited achievement made possible through the collective dedication, perseverance, and hard work of the PNU NL community.
The audit was conducted by Engr. Mary Jean P. Orlanes, External Audit Team Leader, and Engr. Homero Marcelo H. Alcon, Audit Team Member. Their recommendation marked a historic achievement for PNUNL and the entire PNU System.
PNU President Dr. Bert J. Tuga likewise congratulated the PNUNL community, recognizing the campus’ dedication to delivering quality educational services and bringing pride to the Philippine Normal University System.
As PNUNL celebrates this milestone, the University remains committed to sustaining the standards of ISO 21001:2018 and continuously enhancing the quality of its educational services. The first surveillance audit is tentatively scheduled for July 2027.
