The official student publication of Philippine Normal University Visayas, The Torch Publications Visayas, proudly partners with Knowledge Channel in bringing four locally produced documentaries to a national audience this June.

The first documentary, “Sa Punta sang Tanan, May Tindahan,” premiered on June 6. The remaining documentaries will air on Knowledge Channel on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 PM. The second documentary, “Ang Paningkamot Kagapon, Diploma na Karon,” will air on June 14; the third, “Dinagsa: Selebrasyon kag Debosyon,” on June 20; and the fourth, “Tagsa ka Tasa, May Angot nga Istorya,” on June 30.

This milestone partnership marks a proud moment for The Torch Publications Visayas and the entire PNU Visayas community, as student-produced documentaries rooted in local stories, culture, and lived experiences reach viewers across the country. Through this collaboration, the publication continues to amplify the voices, traditions, and identity of Cadiz City, where the campus is located.

The documentaries were brought to life through the creative efforts of Rafael Dawa, Broadcast Editor, and Crispel Jhun Ducay, who served as the projects’ writers and directors, with the support of other dedicated members of the publication. These projects were carried out under the guidance of Dr. John Jonathan N. Normandia, adviser of The Torch Publications Visayas.

More than a partnership, this achievement affirms the power of campus journalism to inform, inspire, and preserve culture. It highlights how student journalists can go beyond reporting by becoming storytellers of their community, bearers of local identity, and contributors to the wider cultural narrative of the nation.
