
Dr. Gary Z. Regala is a graduate of a Postdoctoral Program in Strategic Management and Leadership. He holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Management, a Master in Public Management and Governance, a Master of Arts in Teaching Major in Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology Major in Guidance, with a specialization in General Science, from Philippine Normal University.
Dr. Regala is an accomplished educational leader currently serving at the Schools Division Office of Manila. His exemplary contributions have earned him multiple honors, including DepEd Manila’s SOAR Exemplary School Head Award for outstanding management of school operations and resources, the Outstanding Science Teacher of the Philippines award, and the Outstanding Educators of Manila award, presented by the City Government of Manila for exemplary service and leadership in public education.
Philippine Normal University played a foundational and transformative role in shaping both his personal values and professional career. He immersed himself in an academic culture that emphasized excellence in teacher education, leadership, research, and service. PNU not only equipped him with academic credentials but also molded his mindset as an educator committed to nation-building, ethical leadership, and lifelong learning.
The institution that gave him the opportunity to shape his future is the same one he served during his college years. As a working student, he contributed to the university as a security officer and a staff member of the former alumni canteen. This journey stands as a profound testament to perseverance, sacrifice, and resilience—values that define the transformative power of education and its capacity to change lives.
