The Philippine Normal University (PNU), through its Linkages and International Office (LIO) and Faculty of Languages and Literature (FLL), is set to further strengthen its internationalization efforts with the launch of the English Proficiency Program Winter Camp Collaboration, to be held from January 26 to February 13, 2026, in partnership with National Chi Nan University (NCNU).

The English Proficiency Program focuses on strengthening English as a medium of communication while fostering inclusive and globally adaptive learning cultures among NCNU students. Through a combination of interactive lectures and hands-on workshops facilitated by FLL faculty, participating students will gain exposure to global English-Medium Instruction (EMI) practices, curriculum design, assessment strategies, intercultural communication, and student engagement.

To complement the academic component, the program integrates cultural and local immersion activities facilitated by the Linkages and International Office (LIO) and the International Volunteers and Leaders Body (InVOLB). These activities are designed to provide participants with a holistic learning experience, allowing international guests to engage with Philippine history, heritage, and educational traditions while practicing English in real-world contexts.

The program formally opens with Pagsalubong, a welcoming and cultural presentation organized by student members of InVOLB. The opening program features songs, dances, cultural performances, inspirational messages, a guided campus tour, and an introduction to PNU’s rich tradition of teaching excellence through performances by the Kislap Sining Dance Troupe.

Participants will also take part in cultural tours and school engagement activities, including visits to heritage sites in Laguna and Cavite. They are likewise set to visit and interact with students of City College of Calamba and Mabalacat City College—local college partners of PNU.

Through this initiative, PNU reaffirms its commitment to quality education, international engagement, and intercultural understanding, while contributing to the global pursuit of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education). The English Proficiency Program Winter Camp Collaboration stands as a testament to PNU’s continuing efforts to prepare educators who are globally competent, culturally grounded, and responsive to the evolving demands of international education.
