PNUans showcase ingenuity and talent in annual Student Summit

summit1On January 21, 2025, the Philippine Normal University (PNU), through the Student Affairs and Services Office and the University Student Council-Central Student Council, conducted the annual PNU Student Summit. As one of the highlights of the 33rd Universityhood Anniversary Celebration of PNU, the Student Summit 2025 brought together students, faculty, alumni, and other stakeholders for a day filled with learning, camaraderie, and celebration centered on the theme: “ALAB: Mula sa Masa, Tungo sa Matatag na Pamumuno, Dekalidad na Edukasyon, at Pagsulong ng mga Adbokasiyang Mula sa Pusong Nag-aalab.”

PNU kickstarts celebration of Universityhood; focuses on sustaining excellence, transforming the future of education

UH1Earlier today, January 20, 2025, the PNU community gathered to kickstart the activities in celebration of the institution’s 33rd Universityhood Anniversary. This year’s installment of the annual commemoration banners the theme “Producing Future-Ready Educators: Sustaining Excellence, Transforming the Future of Education.” The opening program, which coincided with the first day of classes for Term 1 of Academic Year 2024–2025, featured various activities participated in by students, faculty members, and administrative employees of the university.

Senate holds hearing on Teacher Professionalization Reforms; PNU and RITQ share position and insights

senateIn the pivotal Senate hearing held on January 14, 2025, hosted by the Senate Committee on Civil Service, Government Reorganization, and Professional Regulation, proposed amendments to the Philippine Teachers Professionalization Act (Republic Act No. 7836, as amended by RA 9293) were tackled. To address critical challenges in teacher licensure and professionalization, representatives from various government institutions, educational organizations, and teacher associations were invited as resource persons to share insights on the topic during the hearing. Headlining these institutions were officials from the Philippine Normal University (PNU), the country’s National Center for Teacher Education, and its Research Institute for Teacher Quality (RITQ).
