The University recognizes the need to allow students to experience learning and development outside of the academic learning imposed by their curricula. As a response, the University promotes and supports extra- and co-curricular programs and activities aimed at fostering students’ holistic development. The OSASS coordinates and monitors these programs and activities through the Dean with the assistance of the Student Activities Coordinator.

The Various Co-Curricular Services

  1. Student Organizations – The University recognizes department-based organizations and interest clubs. The accreditation and the monitoring and regulation of the activities of these organizations are conducted by the Student Government and OSASS.
  2. Culture and Arts – The various academic colleges and departments and the University’s Center for Culture and the Arts collectively promotes awareness, involvement, and appreciation of culture and arts in the University. The various cultural and art programs and activities are coordinated with OSASS.
  3. Performing Groups – The University also maintains and encourages student memberships in the performing groups – PNU Chorale, PNU Rondalla, and PNU Kislap Sining Dance Troupe. These groups lend themselves in a number of university-wide and college-wide activities. They are also actively involved in attending and performing in national and international competitions/programs.
  4. Sports and Recreation – The University promotes sports and athletes development through the Center for Sports Development. Attendance of students on sports-related programs inside and outside of the University is coordinated with OSASS.
  5. Campus Ministry – The spiritual development of students is attended through the Campus Ministry. It aims to provide Christian formation while striving to be ecumenical in outreach.
  6. Co-Curricular Awards – Students who has shown commendable accomplishments in co-curricular activities may be given co-curricular awards (i.e. Leadership Award; Service Award). The OSASS Dean and Student Activity Coordinator spearhead the University Committee on Co-Curricular Awards which is tasked to evaluate the qualifications and accomplishments of candidates for co-curricular awards.
