The Office of Student Affairs and Student Services (OSASS) is one of the academic units of the University. It is headed by the Dean who is supported by a team of faculty counselors and administrative staff. The Office is staffed with licensed guidance counselors and licensed teachers who have the training and experience in planning, designing, implementing, evaluating, and enhancing student services program.
The various student services are provided in close coordination with the Office of the Vice President for Academics, the four academic colleges and their departments, the Office of Students Admission, the Registrar’s Office, and other academic, as well as administrative units/offices. In addition, some of the services of the Office require coordinating with the University’s Security Unit, Auxiliary Services Unit, Medical and Dental Clinic, Campus Ministry, and Alumni Office. The Office also works in close coordination and collaboration with the Student Government.
The following are the goal and functions of the Office:
Goal
In consonance with the PNU Philosophy of Education for Personal Renewal and Social Transformation, the Office of Student Affairs and Student Services shall dedicate itself to optimizing the development of students into well-rounded, service-oriented, competent, self-reliant professionals, educators, and leaders in teacher education who are committed to the task of enhancing the well-being of the community they serve.
Functions
- Assist students in recognizing their potentials through their active participation in various programs and in achieving their ultimate goals, which are essential to self-development and which are anchored upon self-understanding, personal and social adjustment, and intelligent planning.
- Undertake programs that would promote leadership; physical, social, vocational, and spiritual development of students, thereby increasing their power and self-direction and self-management.
- Set-up and sustain an effective mechanism for monitoring and assessing students, capabilities, potentials, aptitudes as well as limitations for their improved adjustment; and
- Establish and maintain an effective system of monitoring and evaluating student programs and services.

The Student Services Program of the Philippine Normal University is administered and supervised by the Office of Student Affairs and Student Services (OSASS), in coordination with the other units of the University.
Objectives
Specifically, it seeks to:
- promote the welfare of PNU students by providing relevant and adequate services that respond to their varied needs;
- enhance the intellectual, cultural, and social environment of the campus for the total development of students at the University; and
