
The Philippine Normal University (PNU), through the Linkages and International Office (LIO), hosted the Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) and the Southern Luzon State University – Judge Guillermo Eleazar (SLSU-JGE) for a benchmarking activity last August 31, 2021.

The benchmarking activity was conducted to help SLSU and SLSU-JGE redesign their graduate programs and to learn about PNU’s best practices in library services and resources, extension, and publication.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was also signed between the libraries of PNU and SLSU-JGE. The MOU will enable both institutions to facilitate interlibrary lending as well as exchange of research journals between the two institutions.

Present during the benchmarking activity were faculty and officials of SLSU headed by its Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Annabelle M. Hufalar. Representing PNU were Dr. Marilyn U. Balagtas, Dean of College Graduate Studies and Teacher Education Research (CGSTER); Dr. Rowena R. Hibanada, Director of the Community Partnership and Extension Office (CPEO); and Mr. John Carlo M. Ramos, Faculty Assistant of the LIO.
The SLSU-JGE delegation was accompanied by its OIC-Administrator, Dr. Felix B. Lampos Jr. From PNU, Dr. Rowena R. Hibanada of CPEO was joined by Ms. Helen A. Advincula, University Librarian while Dr. Marie Paz E. Morales of the Publication Office joined them via Zoom.
