The Faculty of Science, Technology, and Mathematics under the College of Teacher Development will be holding the first Seminar-Workshop on Mathematical Investigations and Science Investigatory Projects on October 17-19, 2013. Teachers from both public and private institutions are encouraged to participate. This seminar-workshop aims to (1) orient teachers on the processes and products of mathematical investigations and science investigatory projects; (2) reinforce teachers’ skills and competencies in problem solving and in critical, creative, and ethical reflection; (3) improve teachers’ competence in proving conjectures; (4) share examples of mathematical investigations conducted by students; (5) present the guidelines and skills necessary in doing collaborative research projects with students; (6) strengthen the scientific community by emphasizing the multidisciplinary approach in research; and (7) provide teachers with the experience of conducting and reporting mathematical investigations and science investigatory projects.
Registration is currently ongoing at Room 204 of the Main Building, PNU. The registration fee is P3,500 for participants who pay before October 8 while the regular fee is P3,800.
