The Philippine Normal University (PNU) hosted the 10th Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges – National Capital Region (PASUC-NCR) Culture and the Arts Festival, which was held on November 15-16, 2018. The seven (7) member institutions rallied their full support behind PNU in this endeavor.

As host, PNU hosted competitions in various venues: PNU Quadrangle and the Public Relations and Alumni Hall for visual arts competitions; Geronima T. Pecson Main Auditorium for the music categories; AV Theater for performing arts; and PNU Gymnasium for the Mr. and Ms. PASUC-NCR and dance competitions.

PNU faced tough competition but emerged victors in notable events such as On-the-Spot Poster Making, Instrumental Solo (Classical Guitar), Short and Sweet Play (Musical), Contemporary Dance, Vocal Solo, Vocal Duet, Standard Chorale, and Show Choir. Likewise, PNU ranked 1st runner-up in the Instrumental Solo (Violin), Instrumental Solo (Banduria), Instrumental Solo (Piano), Radio Drama, Short and Sweet Play (Dialogue), Pop Solo, and Live Band. Completing the list of winners from PNU are its representatives for the Pencil Drawing and the Mr. PASUC and Ms. PASUC, who both placed 2nd runner-up.

The champions will represent NCR in the upcoming PASUC National Culture and the Arts Festival to be held in Davao City with University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP) as host on November 26-30, 2018.

The Regional Culture and Arts Festival aims to provide opportunities for tertiary level students to participate in socio-cultural competitions and hone their crafts and skills as they prepare to become potential Philippine representatives to international events and competitions.
