
The PNU Brain-based Research and Education Neuroscience (PNU BRAENS) together with the SCIGATE Teachnology Corporation, conducted an Electroencephalography (EEG) Training last November 12 and 13, 2018 at the Philippine Normal University (PNU) Public and Alumni Relations Hall.
Dr. Rosemarievic V. Diaz, the PNU BRAENS Program Leader and Vice President for Research, Planning, and Quality Assurance, introduced the organization’s project leaders namely: Dr. Adonis P. David, Dr. Teresita T. Rungduin, Dr. Maryfe M. Roxas, Dr. Arceli M. Amarles, and Dr. Von Anthony G. Torio. The project leaders also introduced their respective research teams.
As the President and General Manager of SCIGATE Technology Corporation, Mr. Donald G. Serafin welcomed Mr. Wilson Chan, the CEO of ANT Neuro Asia, and Mr. Evan Susanto, Ph.D., President of Mind Control Technology Limited, who facilitated the training.
The session kicked-off with Mr. Chan’s talk on “The Future of Mobile EEG and Pervasive Neurotechnology”, where he focused on the history, types of analysis, and the major benefits of the Mobile EGG. It was then followed by Dr. Susanto’s discussion on the basic concepts that needed to be understood with regards to the EEG.
Participants witnessed how an actual machine gathered and analyzed research data as Dr. Susanto gave the general directions in setting-up this kind of research tool. The second day became more comprehensive for the participants as they continued with the discussion on EEG.
Making the most out of the opportunity, Mr. Chan and Dr. Susanto assisted every research project team in terms of their data gathering and analysis. The event concluded with an insightful recommendations for the research projects from the two facilitators.
