
The Philippine Normal University, through the Community Partnership and Extension Office (CPEO), hosted the Teacher Education Institutions (TEI) Annual Conference on Extension and National Service Training Program (NSTP) dubbed as “SULO: Strengthening University Leadership in Our Communities” on September 27-29, 2022. The online conference was attended by over 100 university extensionists, educators, and leaders from across the country.
Ms. Ma. Theresa Limpin, the keynote speaker, talked about the importance of peace in society and how community immersion and solidarity can promote “cultural peace for a better normal.” Dr. Teresita T. Rungduin, Dean of the Office of Student Affairs and Student Services (OSASS) and plenary speaker, emphasized the impact of NSTP in promoting volunteerism among the youth.
The resource speakers include Ms. Dalisay Serrano of Soka Gakkai International of the Philippines, Mr. Paul Dela Vega of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa, and Mr. Marion Joseph Villar of YouthLed – The Asia Foundation.
The conference served as a platform for extensionists from various TEIs to share their best practices and innovations. It also became a venue to forge or renew partnerships aimed at achieving community and societal development.
