The final research presentation for the Research Fellows of Ateneo-EDCOM 2 (The Second Congressional Commission on Education) was held on June 25, 2025, at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law on Rockwell Drive, Makati City. This event provided an opportunity for the scholars involved in the year-long research fellowship to present their findings and recommendations to key education leaders and policymakers, aiming to address the Priority Areas of EDCOM 2. Presentations and discussions sparked conversations on strengthening early childhood learning resources, supporting teaching and learning environments, understanding needs to improve practices in Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and lifelong learning, revisiting teacher education, promoting educational leadership, and streamlining policies across basic and higher education sectors.

PNU keeps status in Times Higher Education Impact Ranking, Improves performance in three SDGs this year
The Times Higher Education has released the 2025 installment of its impact rankings. This worldwide listing of higher education institutions is anchored on the result of the evaluation of performance in implementing programs that contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations (UN). In this iteration of the rankings, the Philippine Normal University has retained its spot at the rank between 1001 and 1500. The country’s National Center for Teacher Education is one of the 2,526 higher education institutions that have participated in this international ranking.
PNU strengthens international ties, holds extension program in Timor-Leste
The Philippine Normal University (PNU) continues to lead the way in transformative education, this time on the global stage. In a groundbreaking international extension initiative, PNU brought its expertise to Dili, Timor-Leste, just as the country was officially welcomed as a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), marking a pivotal moment in its development. PNU stood in solidarity with Timor-Leste to support its national education reform agenda, partnering with the Instituto Superior Don Bosco (ISDB) under the Fundação Educacional Salesiana. This strategic collaboration marks PNU’s commitment to educational diplomacy and global citizenship, contributing meaningfully to the development of education systems within the ASEAN region.
