CHED recognizes top-performing TEIs through EQUATE Awards; all PNU Campuses hailed as awardees

chedThe Philippine Normal University, together with other teacher education institutions, was formally awarded the Excellence in Quality Assurance in Teacher Education (EQUATE) Award during the recognition program held on April 2, 2025, at the Manila Hotel. A total of 120 higher education institutions offering exemplary teacher education programs were recognized for their commitment to upholding quality standards and nurturing excellent educators for the country. Among these institutions are the five campuses of the National Center for Teacher Education: PNU North Luzon, PNU South Luzon, PNU Visayas, PNU Mindanao, and PNU Manila.

April 2025 – Aurora Marcellana Pagulayan

Ms. Aurora PagalayanMs. Aurora Marcellana Pagulayan is an accomplished educator and leader with over four decades of experience in the field of education. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the Philippine Normal College (now Philippine Normal University) in 1965, graduating Magna Cum Laude and receiving the prestigious Princess Urduja Leadership Award. Her academic journey continued with a fellowship that enabled her to pursue a Master of Science in Education at Bucknell University, Pennsylvania (1967–1968).
