To highlight 2024 milestones and set forth directions for the future work of Linking Standards and Quality Practice (LiSQuP) program, the PNU-LiSQuP team, led by the University President, Dr. Bert J. Tuga and Vice President for Academics (VPA), Dr. Marilyn U. Balagtas presented important year-end updates of the program on December 13, 2024, at NEAP-NCR Training Facility in Marikina City.  In attendance were officials from the National Educators Academy of the Philippines namely, Dr. Jennifer E. Lopez, Director IV; Dr. Leah B. Apao, Director III, and from Office of the Undersecretary for Human Resource and Organizational Development, Dir. Margarita C. Ballesteros, Director IV.

The Normal Awards 2023 Awarding Ceremony took place on December 11, 2024, celebrating the creativity and advocacy of outstanding literary talents. The event brought together a diverse group of participants, winners, and esteemed judges, with the Philippine Normal University (PNU) management represented by Dr. Denmark L. Yonson, Vice President for Student Success and Stakeholder Services.

The Philippine Normal University participated in a series of activities conducted by the Association of Southeast Asian Teacher Education Network (AsTEN) in Vietnam. PNU President Dr. Bert J. Tuga was represented by its Vice President for Student Success and Stakeholder Services, Dr. Denmark L. Yonson.

To mark his fifth year as President of the Philippine Normal University (PNU), Dr. Bert J. Tuga led the President’s Day celebration on December 10, 2024, at the PNU Manila campus. The event recognized PNU’s valued partners, celebrated the achievements of its community, and highlighted the institution’s progress under his leadership over the past year.

The Philippine Normal University, through the Faculty of Science, Technology, and Mathematics (FSTeM), in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI), successfully hosted the 4th National Conference on Science, Technology, and Mathematics Education themed “Future-ready STEM Education: Co-creating our Futures,” on December 7 and 8, 2024, at the Geronima Pecson Hall Auditorium of the university.

The Thailand-Philippines Bilateral Graduate Student Research Exchange Forum, held from November 22 to 25, 2024, at Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand, brought together over 150 participants, including 63 delegates from the Philippines. The forum aimed to foster collaboration in educational leadership, focusing on innovation, equity, and addressing global challenges. Delegates included students from the Philippine Normal University-Manila Comparative Education Society, the Students’ Critical Leadership Society (PNU-CESCLS), Mariano Marcos State University, and Mindanao State University-Tawi-Tawi.

The Philippine Normal University took part in the Global University Presidents and Leaders Summit 2024 held on December 2 to 3, 2024, in Hong Kong. Out of 55 invited entities from across the globe, PNU is the only higher education institution in the Philippines that was invited to take part in the prestigious academic gathering. The institution’s contingent consisted of its University President, Dr. Bert J. Tuga, and two students, namely, Mr. Mark Joar T. Calag and Mr. Roberto L. Rodriguez Jr., who are taking up the Bachelor of English Education and Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education programs, respectively
