Philippine Normal University (PNU), the country’s National Center for Teacher Education, has been recognized as a Center of Excellence (COE) for Teacher Education by the Teacher Education Council (TEC). 34th SCUAA-NCR Games Kick Off; Torchbearers Ready for Regional Showdown

17th ASEF Classroom Network Conference commences at PNU; puts spotlight on AI and Education
The Asia-Europe Foundation formally kickstarted its 17th Classroom Network Conference earlier today, November 12, 2024. The opening ceremony was held at the Geronima T. Pecson Main Auditorium of the Philippine Normal University, the proud co-host of this weeklong endeavor that banners the theme, “Learning about AI and Learning with AI.” One hundred twenty (120) participants from Asian and European countries have converged at PNU to explore the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in education including its challenges and opportunities and to study innovative teaching practices from various countries.
PNU strengthens advocacy on GEDI and GCED; officials join intensive workshops abroad
In a bid to reinforce its brand of academic excellence and commitment to relevant social advocacies, the Philippine Normal University recently sent two of its officials to Thailand to participate in separate international training workshops. These events provided opportunities for the PNU representatives to engage with global leaders in various disciplines, share best practices, and foster partnerships that align with the university’s commitment to advancing gender equity, diversity, inclusivity, and global citizenship education.
PNU to implement new Admissions Policies and Programs; puts premium on inclusivity and diversity
The Philippine Normal University (PNU) will be implementing two groundbreaking admissions initiatives that aim to create more diverse and inclusive pathways to teacher education. The Contextualized Admissions Policy and Program (CAPP) and the Student-Varsity and Performers Admissions System (SVPAS) are the two new admission schemes approved by the university’s Board of Regents during their recent regular meeting last October 28, 2024.

Dr. Evelyn de Asis Natividad, a distinguished alumna from the Class of 1969, stands as a powerful advocate for the Filipino community, both in the United States and the Philippines. Serving as President of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA), Midwest Region, and President of the Philippine Engineers and Scientists Organization (PESO) for 2023-2025, Dr. Natividad combines vision and action to uplift communities and foster unity.
