Now comes another review.
First, there was the Licensure Examination for Teachersí review. Then, the University Multi-Purpose Cooperative introduced the Civil Service Exam review this year.
Now is the time for PNU to launch another review offer to public school aspirants for career post as principal. The National Qualifying Examination for School Heads (NQESH) is given every year by the National Educatorsí Academy of the Philippines, a Department of Education agency. This yearís NQESH is slated on November 11, 2011.
The test is open to applicants who have at least a five-year aggregate experience as Head Teachers, Teachers-in-Charge, Master Teachers and/or Teacher III in the DepEd all over the country.
The PNU review invites interested teachers especially those from the National Capital Region, Central Luzon, and Southern Tagalog. The PNU lecturers are composed mainly of retired regional directors and superintendents.
The review classes will cost the applicant P4,000 and will run on October 20-23, 2012 to be held at PNU Manila. The review program will cover eight areas: school leadership, school management and daily operations, professional development and human resource management, instructional leadership, student-centered learning climate, personal integrity and interpersonal effectiveness, parents involvement and community partnership, and communication skills.
According to Business Development Officer Dr. Diony V. Varela, there are about 3,000 to 5,000 teachers who take the annual test. Holding review classes for them, he stressed, goes in consonance with PNUís mandate as the National Center for Teacher Education.
