CENTER FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT IN EDUCATION
(CREDE)

The Center’s Vision

To sustain and enhance the CREDE’s excellence as a leading center in research in Teacher Education in order to become a significant resource of the University in serving the wide goals of education for the society

The Center’s Mission

In support of this vision, CREDE is committed to engage in high-impact and relevant research and development initiatives in order to

  • advance scholarship in the area of teacher education and
  • discover processes that can respond to the teacher development needs of the academic communities as well as the schools in the field
The Center’s Philosophy of Research

The Center views research as a person’s tool for inquiry not only for generating new knowledge and processes but also, and more importantly, for maximizing his/her potential to discover relationships that can bring about change.

The Center’s conduct of research is to be guided by quality and excellence as measured by national and international standards, relevance and responsiveness to the teacher development needs both at the pre-service and in-service levels and the spirit of sharing and collaboration by all concerned in the process

The Center’s Profile

During the last four years (2002-2006), the Center has completed various research projects both institutional and funded/commissioned, with more to be carried over to the next academic year. These researches were predominantly focused on institutional processes for improving the university programs. To respond to the call for greater collaboration to produce quality, relevant and responsive research from TEC, CHED, PASUC, Dep.Ed. and other NGOs, the Center has strengthened further its capabilities to network with other research organizations/sponsors at the local, national and international level that are involved in teacher education, education in general, and other related fields.
