VISION:
- To provide high quality alternative system of educating preservice and inservice teachers to meet their personal and professional needs.
- To expand PNU’s training opportunities and other services for its growing number of clientele and markets clamoring for an open and flexible type of learning.
MISSION:
- To develop preservice and inservice teachers’ instructional skills through a distance education mode.
- To develop distance education courses and programs to meet the training needs of distance learners.
GOALS:
- To expand access to baccalaureate, post-baccalaureate Teacher Education certificate and degree programs through distance education.
- To broaden access to quality education by providing quality certificate, undergraduate and graduate degree programs to learners who cannot avail of residential instruction.
- To train PNU faculty and administrators in program development and implementation of distance education.
- To upgrade teacher competencies at all school levels i.e., pre-school, elementary, secondary and higher education through a system of continuing education.

To conduct research on the components of Distance Education for policy studies.
The PNU Distance Education Approach
- It makes use of a blended approach to teaching and learning consisting of at least 3 face-to-face sessions, online interactions and print support materials for students.
Who may apply in PNU’s Distance Education Program?
- Continuing undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate students who want to learn via the distance education mode
- Students from consortium schools who want to complete or enroll in available Education courses offered online
- Students from across Colleges, Departments, Programs or levels in PNU who are interested in learning online due to work, family, geographical, economic and other personal reasons
ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE
Step 1 Applying for enrollment
- New students take the PNU Admission Test. If a passing mark is obtained, may get the Application Form for Enrollment from the Admissions Office.
Requirements:
- Admission slip
- Photocopy of TOR with S.O. # from a private school and with no negative remarks
- GPA of 85% or better (for degree holders)
- Interview
- Proceed to the Department of the desired Academic Program. The Department Head decides whether the student meets the general admission requirements.
- If qualified, the Department Head refers the student to the Center for Educational Technology and Distance Education (CETDE) for Online courses that the student may wish to enroll in.
Step 2 Advising for Online courses, CETDE (Gusali ng Wika rm 202)
- Proceed to the CETDE Office for Interview
- Submit duly accomplished CETDE Information Sheet
- Fill-out Registration Form
- CETDE Director/ Adviser signs the registration form of qualified Online student
Step 3 Assessments and Payment of Fees
- Have fees assessed by the Accounting Section
- Pay the fees at the Cashier’s Office
Step 4 Photo Sessions and ID Validation
- ID Photo session for new students
- ID Validation for old and new students
Step 5 Class card/s
- Claim class card/s at the CETDE Office, GW rm 202
