ACADEMIC-GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING UNIT
Vision/ Mission
Provide guidance and counseling services to BECED, BEED and BSEd students in pursuing success in their academic endeavor.
Objectives
- To help discover the wholeness of education students by contributing to the intelligent planning and adjustment to their academic pursuits.
- To provide a basis in making wise choices, career plans and decisions.
CURRICULUM RESOURCE UNIT
Vision/ Mission
To contribute to the promotion and development of quality professional teachers by:
- Making supplementary curriculum materials available to student teachers.
- Providing the education students access to alternative instructional materials for research and other education needs.
- Serving as a networking unit for instructional resources for other TEIs/ SUCs here and abroad;
- Serving a s a unit for the preparation, evaluation and utilization of other instructional materials.
Goals and Objectives
Provides the education students access to instructional materials that are not available in the university library/ centers but which are needed in many education courses.
- Makes available to education students supplementary curriculum materials that are utilized to meet a number of course requirements.
- Provides students with alternative resource materials for research.
- Serves as a networking unit for instructional resources for other TEIs/ SUCs and universities here and abroad.
EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY AND DEMONSTRATION UNIT
Vision/ Mission
To keep abreast with the developments in educational technology and their applications in teaching and learning.
Objectives
The EdTech & Demo Unit specifically intends to:
- Provide a venue for actual demonstration of emerging and innovative strategies in teaching different subject areas in the elementary and secondary education levels.
- Expose the prospective teachers to the effective applications of various technologies in the teaching of various school subjects.
- Enrich and support the delivery of the different professional courses through the use of varied educational technologies.
- Produce videotapes, audiotapes and computer-assisted programs to meet the varying needs, interests, abilities and learning styles of students.
eLEARNING RESOURCE CENTER
Vision
To be a dynamic training and development center in technology integration in education.
Mission
To train and develop preservice and inservice teachers in using the computer technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Objectives
- To assist faculty and students in applying basic and advanced technology competencies for personal and professional purposes.
- To develop the faculty and students’ capability in utilizing
- technology effectively to improve teaching and learning.
- To provide guidance to faculty and students in the appropriate management of technology.
- To aid the faculty and students in using technology to design effective educational programs and curricula.
- To provide training/s to inservice teachers on effective technology integration for the improvement of learning.
EXTENSION SERVICE UNIT
Vision
To be a service arm of the college in the development of quality professional teachers who are nation-builders, upright, competent, evolutionary and dedicated.
Mission
To provide outreach services to immediate and wider community through viable and responsive programs.
Goals/ Objectives
- Conduct massive information dissemination on topics relevant to education in general and to teacher education in particular.
- Organize and manage in-service training and workshops for the professional growth of teachers and school staff.
- Initiate and organize programs for community outreach.
- Link with other Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) and the outside world through the UNESCO-UNDP and other international organizations’ projects and activities.
- Encourage people in the community to maximize the use of existing human and material resources; and
- Serve the country and the world through relevant extension programs.
RESEARCH UNIT
Vision
Promote and develop a research-oriented academic community of faculty and students.
Mission
To promote growth and development of the college’s general clientele, affirm its commitment to design new and redesign existing programs, undertake projects and activities for the purpose of advancing knowledge, competence, and develop necessary skills and values of faculty and students of the college in the area of educational research. It hopes to establish a strong research environment in the college that inspires the designing and undertaking of researches and projects supportive of the college mission of promoting and facilitating the development of teachers who are professionally competent, committed and responsible and who can provide dynamic leadership in the continuing professional development of inservice teachers and school managers.
Goals/ Objectives
- To identify research needs and concerns in the various academic departments and centers, i.e., Educational Foundations, Curriculum, Instruction and Center for Teaching and Learning and develop corresponding research designs.
- To provide academic and technical assistance to the various instrumentalities and constituents of the college in conceptualization, design and evaluation of their research programs and projects.
- To identify faculty and student researchers and provide the encouragement and support to conduct researches along their areas of interest, expertise and/ or specialization.
- To create a strong research environment, and stimulate research interests and capabilities among the administrators, faculty and students.
- To provide trainings, seminars and conferences to improve the skills, techniques and competencies of faculty and student researchers in the conduct of studies as well as improve techniques employed on studies conducted.
- To serve as an effective avenue for the exchange of intellectual ideas based on the conduct and results of researches.
TESTING UNIT
Vision/ Mission
To promote and facilitate the development of quality professional preservice teachers through effective instruction.
Objective
To evolve relevant evaluation instruments for the various professional education courses for different purposes.
